What this is

nickel-free reads the public materials field of Etsy jewellery listings, sorts a search by whether those words suggest a nickel-safe metal, and re-reads the listings you keep so it can tell you when a seller edits one. It is free. There is no paid tier, no subscription and no advertising. It is not a shop and takes no payment of any kind — every purchase happens on Etsy, between you and the seller.

It is not medical advice

Nothing on this site is medical advice, a diagnosis, or a test of any object. Verdicts are produced from text a seller typed and can be wrong in both directions; the ways it is wrong are set out in full. Do not rely on this service to decide what is safe against your skin. If you have a metal allergy, ask your doctor, and ask the seller. No warranty is given that any verdict is accurate, current, or fit for any purpose, and no liability is accepted for a purchase made, a purchase avoided, or a reaction suffered.

Your account

• You are responsible for the Google account you sign in with and for keeping access to it.
• You may delete everything at any time from the account page, which erases it immediately. See Privacy.

Availability

This is a small service run by one developer. It may be unavailable, may miss a daily pass, and may be discontinued — in which case you will be told at the address on the account and the stored data will be deleted. No uptime is promised. A missed warning is not compensable, and the absence of an email is never evidence that a listing is unchanged.

Acceptable use

Do not attempt to reach another person's account, disrupt the service, or use it in a way that breaches Etsy's own terms. Accounts doing any of these may be closed without notice.

Etsy

nickel-free uses the Etsy Open API under Etsy's API Terms of Use, reading public listing data only. It is an independent application: not made by Etsy, not endorsed by Etsy, not certified by Etsy, and not affiliated with Etsy. Listings, sellers, prices and purchases are governed by Etsy's terms, not by these. Access to Etsy data may be changed or withdrawn by Etsy at any time, which would stop this service working.

Changes

These terms may change. Material changes will be sent to the address on the account. Continuing to use the service after a change is acceptance of it.
